Choosing Your Wedding Flowers

Choosing the right flowers for your Wedding Day is an important descision, and it is crucial that you get it right.
There are so many options & designs to choose from, sometimes it can be a little confusing! But always keep a clear idea of how you want the overall style/theme of the Wedding to be. This should then reflect in the types of Flowers and Designs that you choose.
I have created some Tips & Advice, in the hope that they will make choosing your Wedding flowers less stressful.

1.   Always challenge your Florist, remember that they are the experts, allow them to feed your imagination with idea's & inspiration. This also gives the Florist chance to show off their skills. If they sit there with a blank expression...leave immediately!

2.   Ask to see Photographs & Testimonials of past Clients Weddings; there is no better recommendation than your past clients.

3. Always choose a Florist that has a genuine desire & passion for Floristry, that way, you know that their heart is in the job.

4.   Keep an idea in your head of a Budget, it is so easy to get carried away when ordering flowers, the price soon adds up!

5.   Always utilise what you order: If you order arrangements for the Church, ask Ushers, Family or Friends to then transport them to the Reception.

6.   Ask Family or Friends for ideas, afterall, they know you best. Your Flowers should reflect your style & personality, however, don't be pushed into having something that you don't want.

7. Look through Magazines and cut-out any pictures that you like. The whole of the design doesn't have to appeal to you, it could just be; the shape, the style, the colour-way, the structure, the theme etc.

8. Give your Florist as many details as you can about your Wedding. She will need to know colours, sizes, heights, quantities, times, arrangements etc.

9.   When organising a Wedding on a small budget, it is always a good idea to ask your Florist what is in season at that moment in time. For example; at Springtime, Tulips & Hyacinths would create a stunning Posy, and not cost the earth.

10.   When choosing your Florist, always ask if there is a limited amount of time that they can spend with you prior to your Wedding Day. Ideally, you want to choose a Florist who is easily contactable, and who is willing to spend unlimited amounts of time discussing your Wedding Flowers.
